What’s Up As You Grow Up?
Dr. Mary Jo Podgurski began teaching parent/youth growing up classes in 1984. She's taught over 12,000 9 -14 year olds and their parents or guardians through in-person classes since then.
Research done at 5, 10 and 15 year intervals showed a 96% increase in parent/youth communication regarding sexuality and the challenges of adolescence. The primary program goal is connection between young person and trusted adult.
The global pandemic necessitated a change in teaching venue; Dr. Podgurski transferred the program to zoom with great success. Parents/guardians attend three virtual zoom classes with their young person. The classes are separated by gender.
The class fee of $30 includes a copy of the What's Up as You Grow Up manual (retails for $29.95).
